Bringing our neighborhood together and serving the community
since 1952.
Located in Falmouth, Massachusetts, the Belvidere Plains Association was established in 1952 to advance the civic interests of the Belvidere Plains neighborhood and to foster community amongst family and friends. As a vibrant social community, this mission continues today. The Association includes the area between Shore Street, Falmouth Harbor, Queen Street and Vineyard Sound. One of the highlights of the association is the July annual meeting which is open to all members and typically held in a Board member's yard. At the meeting the Board leadership shares updates, welcomes new members, and invites members to share or bring up new business topics. A popular cocktail party/social hour follows where all members are welcome to mix and mingle with friends and neighbors.
What inspired the Belvidere Plains Association logo and who created it?
According to past president Sybil Drummond, "In choosing an appropriate logo for our organization we looked to the meaning of belvidere. A belvidere, from the Italian for “beautiful view,” is an architectural structure sited to take advantage of a scenic view. Since a “gazebo” can be a synonym for a “belvidere,” we chose a rendering of a local gazebo to be an appropriate logo."
Former resident Cecilia McBride created the logo for the Association in 2002.
